Presidents Cup

CONGRATULATION'S BOYS !!! GREAT RESULT !!!
The CTC final will take place at St Enodoc GC on Sunday 20th March 2016 commencing at 8.00am with the Presidents Trophy final going put immediately afterwards,
The President’s Trophy - in its fourth year - will see new combatants in the final after wins for Merlin and Looe. At Trevose, Merlin recorded an impressive 7 - 2 win over China Fleet, whilst the other match at St Enodoc proved to be a much tighter affair. Things were evenly balanced at 4 matches apiece and it came down to Cornwall Seniors team member and 1978 County Champion Andy Rowe to secure the berth for Looe as he found the winning putt on the 18th hole and created a 5-4 win for his team.

County News

County Men's Squad Get Together Sat 30th January 2016 Trevose G&CC
West Cornwall GC's 15 year old Finn Rule was an impressive winner of today's county men's pre-season get together at Trevose G&CC. In the individual stableford competition and with 19 hopefuls taking part in cold windy but dry conditions the Lelant club's 4 handicap county junior was playing the course for the first time in competition and returned a total of 37 points to win on countback from Aaron Stephens (Newquay) and Cary Clark (Merlin).
With County Captain David Kneebone looking on, Rule eclipsed some of his peers with an excellent round of golf. One handicapper Stephens, who has represented the county at men's level previously, was the winner of the CGU Champion of Champions Depot Cup event at Falmouth in September 2015 and his good form continues. The unheralded Clark off 2 also produced an excellent performance as the trio found themselves at the top of the leadeboard.
Trevose G&CC's own junior George Leigh was another to return a fine score of 36 points together with clubmate and 2015 Amateur Championship runner up Carl Burley. The 13 year old Leigh was playing alongside Rob MacGregor and Matt Lock, both of whom were impressed with the youngsters game.
37 - Rule, Stephens & Clark
36 - Leigh & Burley
35 - Cris Fleming (Perranporth)
34 - Tom Rowe (Tehidy Park)
33 - Joe Reynard (Truro), Rob MacGregor (Tehidy Park), Matt Lock (Newquay)

This week there's the customs which happened today. Sorry the news isn't on time busy week. This Saturday is the winter league be in the clubhouse between 10 and 11am.
Also on the notice board are the sign up sheets for the knockout comps. Singles, men's foresomes and mixed foresomes. Even if you lose in the first round you get put into the "plate" so well worth getting involved. All matches are arranged with your opponent and have to be played by a certain date you've always got lots of time to play.
Did I mention in the clubhouse on Sunday that I got a 7 on the 14th and does any one else think that Shane Easterbrook is looking more and more like a magician every time you see him!! Judging by his 2nd into the 17th on Saturday which won me and him the comp he can perform magic as well !!! Ben
